DOUBLES TEAM, VELAZQUEZ FALL AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
PHILADELPHIA, PA (10/27/02) -- Both Saint Joseph's entires in the 2002 OMNI HOTELS/ITA Regional Championships fell on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania.
Sophomore Francisco Velazquez, who had won in the first round of the tourney, fell to Harvard's George Turner, 6-2, 6-1. Turner has advanced to the Elite Eight of the tournament.
In doubles action, sophomore Van Homer Pangilinan and freshman A.J. Garabedian dropped in the opening round to Penn State's duo of Matt Frakes and Brad Nudell.
The tournament wrapped up the fall season for the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team.
