PHILADELPHIA (10/28/02) -- For the second time this fall, Saint Joseph's sophomore standout Francisco Velazquez was honored by the Atlantic 10 as the Co-Player of the Week. Velazquez was the lone singles representative for the Hawks at the OMNI HOTELS/ITA Regional Championships held at Penn and advanced to the second round before falling. In round one, the unseeded Velazquez defeated Kevin Bielin of Rutgers, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Seeded #21, Harvard's George Turner was awaiting in the round of 64 and defeated the sophomore, 6-2, 6-1. The tourney concluded the fall season for the Crimson and Gray.
