HAWKS KICK OFF SEASON WITH SECOND AT KUTZTOWN
KUTZTOWN, PA (08/31/02) - The Saint Joseph's University men's cross country team kicked off the 2002 season with a second place finish at the Maroon and Gold Invitational at Kutztown this afternoon. The host Bears won the event with 45 points, six ahead of the Hawks.
Freshman Rich Anderson led the way for SJU, finishing third out of 67 runners with a time of 27:24 in the 8K race. Next for Saint Joseph's was junior Greg Rosetti in ninth with a time of 27:48. Freshman David Masse (27:52) and junior Rob Hewitt (27:58) placed 10th and 11th, respectively.
Also scoring for the Hawks were sophomores Sean McAneny (18th, 28:38) and Joe Correnti (25th, 29:31) and freshman Matt Petrocci (26th, 29:33).
