LABOY, MOHN LEAD HAWKS TO SECOND PLACE SHOWING AT THE A-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS
PITTSBURGH, PA (11/02/02) -- Saint Joseph's placed two runners on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team as the men finished second at today's A-10 Championships.
On the men's side, the Hawks finished with 69 points, 50 behind champion La Salle, who successfully defended their conference title. Freshman Andre Laboy finished third (25:23) to earn Most Outstanding Rookie honors, while classmate Joe Mohn (25:41) placed ninth to earn all-conference.
A third Hawk freshman, Mike Didio placed 13th with a time of 26:01, followed by junior RIch Cullin (26:13, 23rd). Sophomore Collin Martin placed fifth for SJU and 25th overall with a time of 26:22.
Rounding out the top seven for St. Joe's were freshman Rich Anderson (26:44, 37th) and senior captain Tim Fisher (26:46, 41st).
La Salle's Todd Witzleben defended his individual championship with a time of 25:22, beating teammate Tim McAteer and Laboy by just one second.
Saint Joseph's returns to action in two weeks at the NCAA District II Meet.
