LEHIGH EDGES WOMEN'S LAX IN OT, 7-5
BETHLEHEM, PA (3/18/03) – A pair of goals from senior Kelly Butler helped the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team (0-2) rally from a 4-0 halftime deficit, but seven different Mountain Hawks scored goals as Lehigh (4-0) edged the Hawks 7-5 overtime at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
Lehigh jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half, but SJU stormed back, outscoring Lehigh 5-1 and tying the score on a goal by junior Kristin Teklinsky with just 0:57 to play in regulation.
The game moved to overtime where Lehigh junior Meredith Carso converted a free position attempt at the 61:04 mark to give the Mountain Hawks the lead for good. Sophomore Kellan Van Hoesen tacked on her team leading tenth goal of the season for insurance.
Butler sandwiched her two goals around a tally by Kerry O'Connell to get the Hawk comeback going. Senior Lauren Foley then knotted the game 4-4 with 13:25 to play.
Lehigh went back on top 5-4, but Teklinsky forced the extra session with an unassisted marked in the final minute of regulation
