WOMEN'S SOCCER NORWEGIAN TOUR: DAY 1
ASKER, NORWAY (08/15/03) -- The SJU women's soccer successfully made it over the pond to Asker, Norway. Two freshman, Emily Brant and Megan Schutt, share their thoughts on the flight.
----
Today was a day that many of us will never forget. Not only was it exhausting and painful at times, it was the start of a trip of a lifetime with a great group of girls. At 3 p.m. we all met at the Fieldhouse for a quick snack then headed out to the airport.
The plane was very accomodating - we had the choice of six movies during the flight and had two meals. We finally landed in England after a grusome plane ride. Everyone was extremely tired so during our five hour wait at the London Airport, we all crashed on benches and chairs.
During the layover, we happened to see two members of Jum 41 - a Canadian punk band. Unfortunately, we were all too lazy to move and get their pictures. At around 12:40 a.m. London time, we boarded the plane and finally landed in Norway after about two hours in the air.
Unfortunately, (assistant coach) Peye (Garcia) and (trainer) Bill (Lukasiewicz) each lost one of their bags, which will hopefully soon be found.
(Former assistant coach and Norway native) Ellen's (Stenrud) Dad picked us up at the airport and led us on a bus to Asker.
With our legs in pain and ankles swollen, we made it through a team run followed by a Norwegian pizza for dinner. We all got ready for bed at 4:30 p.m. Philadelphia time for a big day tomorrow.
