WOMEN'S SOCCER NORWEGIAN TOUR: DAY 8
ASKER, NORWAY (08/22/03) - Individual meetings, repelling and dinner in Oslo highlighted day 8 in Norway.
--
This morning we woke up at 6:30 a.m. for our free buffet breakfast that we have been eating every single day since we've been here. Then we met downstairs to leave for practice at 7:30, but to our pleasant surprise, the coaches had decided to give us the morning off.
Instead, individual meetings were on the schedule and for the next two and a half hours we awaited our turn. Then at 11, the rain stopped and we got on the bus to go repelling. Little did we know that elevators weren't provided up the mountain so we had to walk a half hour up the mountain, which felt like we were hiking up Mt. Everest.
We finally reached the peak and realized it was worth the hike. We could see the view of all of Norway. The first one to take th eplunge down the vertical drop was senior tri-captain Anna Marini. Anna's trek down the mountain, however, could not compare to junior Marisa Barriere's trip down the mountain. She soon decided to claw her way back up the mountain.
She then later redeemed herself and successfully made it down. After four hours spent watching about 30 people do the same thing over again we finally went back to the hotnd got ready for a dinner out in Oslo, where some, where some team members tried cavier for the first time.
Now we are relaxing and watching VH1 preparing for track practice tomorrow. It's gonna be a tough one.
Good night!
