SCHUTT EARNS A-10 NOD AFTER RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND
PHILADELPHIA (10/06/03) -- Freshman Megan Schutt, who established a new SJU freshman record for goals scored on Sunday, was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week announced by the conference office. The Sudbury, Ontario native scored all four Hawk goals this week, including a pair in a 2-0 win over Temple on Monday.
The forward also scored single goals in a 2-1 loss at Xavier and a 5-1 loss at Dayton. Schutt now leads the team with 17 points, which ties a SJU freshman record for points in a season, set by Ellen Stenrud in 1996.
Schutt is second in the Atlantic 10 in goals (8) and points (17).
It is the second time this season that Schutt has been awarded the A-10 Rookie of the Week honor.
