SCHUTT EARNS LEAGUE-LEADING FOURTH A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
PHILADELPHIA (11/03/03) – Freshman Megan Schutt has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the league-leading fourth time this week. The Canadian native scored the playoff-clinching game-winning goal in the 82nd minute on Friday to give SJU a 2-1 win over Rhode Island and its first ever berth to the Atlantic 10 Championship.
On Sunday, Schutt netted her team-leading 11th goal of the season in a 5-0 blanking of Massachusetts. Schutt leads the team in scoring with 27 points (11g, 5a) and is second in the Atlantic 10 Conference in goals and points.
The Hawks will make their debut in the A-10 Tournament on Thursday when they take on Xavier at 7:30 at Richmond's First Market Stadium.
